Missing eight-year-old boy found dead in Wemmer Pan, Pioneer Park

The family had hoped to find the boy still alive.

THE body of an eight-year-old boy, who went missing on February 17, was found in Wemmer Pan, Pioneer Park, on the morning of February 21.

SAPS preliminary investigation has revealed that on the day the boy was reported missing, his clothes were found next to the pan.

Therefore, police commenced with their search which yielded in the discovery of the body of the boy. He was declared dead by paramedics.

Moffatview SAPS is appealing to parents and community member to keep track of children to avoid such incidents in future.

Moffat View communications officer Capt Jeff Phora said a case of inquest has been opened after the discovery of the body.
