Mondeor SAPS creates public crime awareness

SAPS successes from January 31 to February 6.

 

MONDEAR police members recently held a two day joint awareness campaign at Southgate Mall with the Department of Community Safety, Johannesburg Metro Police Department and Gauteng Police.

Police interacted with the community and safety tip leaflets were distributed to shoppers and business owners. The awareness campaigns are aimed at creating public crime awareness in the Mondeor Policing Sector, such as house robberies, hijacking, theft of motor vehicles and robberies.

The police also interacted with the community on dangers of drug abuse, urging the youth to get involved in social crime prevention programmes.

SAPS successes from January 31 to February 6

Thirty-one suspects were arrested for: Possession of dagga (four), dealing in liquor and drinking in public (one), possession of stolen motor vehicle (5), shoplifting and theft (13),fraud (one), attempted murder using a firearm (two), rape (one), business robbery (one), bribery (one), trespassing (one) and dealing in liquor (one).
