Raising money for Katelyn Brand

All profits made through sales of these bracelets are donated towards medical care and/or specialised treatment and therapy.

LINDA HUGHES, Veronica Pinto and Shannon Brand had a table at Two Trees Bakery on November 10, where they sold beautiful bracelets and other gorgeous gifts, in aid to raise money for Katelyn Brand who has a rare form of cancer.

Shannon, Katelyn’s mom, is trying everything she possibly can to raise much-needed funds for Katelyn to try and help with her medical costs.

Arms of mercy (NPO) has also come on board and is selling bracelets for Katelyn. Each month they create unique, high-quality handmade bracelets of certain colour and design for a specific child/children in need in order to raise funds which are paid over to help sustain the needs and enable the parents of these children who have suffered life’s afflictions. All profits made through sales of these bracelets are donated towards medical care and/or specialised treatment and therapy.

Two Trees Bakery also have a raffle for Katelyn with tickets costing R50 each and this will be drawn on December 8 and another raffle in a sleigh is being held with tickets at R100 each.

Jink Studios of Joburg South has designed banners for the cause and will create a website and Facebook page in the very near future, keeping community members up to date with news on Katelyn.

Lin Muller and Erna Mentz from Mentz’s Home Baked in Alberton are also baking cupcakes which can be bought to raise funds for Katelyn. Orders must be emailed to Cupcakes@KureforKatelyn.com and either Lin or Erna will get back to you.

If you would like to buy a bracelet (R35), which also come in beautifully created Christmas designs, please email Linda at linda@kureforkatelyn.com or phone her on 082 696 2799, or ask about the raffle tickets.

“Any help will be greatly appreciated to help Katelyn,” said her mom, Shannon.
