More black belt grades for JKA South

SA JKA National Dan Gradings held recently.

SOUTH Africa Japan Karate Association (SAJKA) was proud to host chief instructors for the Japan Karate Association, JKA International, Shihan Ueki and Sensei Okuma from Japan.

They oversaw the recent SA JKA National Dan Gradings held recently. A hearty congratulations to Heinrich Opperman who graded to Sandan (3rd Dan), Serish Mungul who graded to Nidan (2nd Dan) as well as Graeme Bennett and honorary member Alysha Govender, who both graded to Shodan (1st Dan).

Senior Instructor Karyn Smith (5th Dan) was also qualified to international B level instructor by Sensei’s Ueki and Okuma.

The successful Dan grading candidates train under the watchful eyes of senior instructors Bruce Smith (7th Dan) and Karyn Smith (5th Dan). Classes are held Monday to Thursday evenings.
