Cable theft in Glenvista

If you’ve woken up in Glenvista Ext 4 and find you have no electricity, it’s because of cable theft.

IF you’ve woken up in Glenvista Ext 4 and find you have no electricity, it’s because of cable theft.

According to Ward 23 councillor Sarah Wissler, residents saw people digging up the cable and never thought to ask them what they were doing. “If you see something like that please ask them and if you are afraid call the CPF to investigate.

“Contractors need to have identity cards with an expiry date and a work order from City Power/  City Water and Wayleave. Please keep a look out, this incident of cable theft didn’t happen overnight. They were digging yesterday already. I can also check quite quickly if we have approved contractors doing work in the area.”
