No looking back for Trevor
Kibler Park resident Trevor Sturgess is now the principal of Seeff Kibler Park.
WHEN Trevor Sturgess achieved sobriety in 2006, life went from worse to better. He knew that the only challenge he now faced was to move forward to living a healthy and meaningful life.
The Kibler Park resident, who is now the principal of Seeff Kibler Park, believes 2006 was his turning point.
“Since then I have achieved a lot. Not only did I study commercial property and public law, obtain an NQF5 in real estate and have just written my Master Practitioner in Real Estate examination through the Estate Agency Affairs Board, I also run a successful business,” Trevor said.
“We have extended our business, we now have the rental department and we also have now six employees. My wife, Ruth, and I run a successful national Seeff Kibler Park office. It is successful because we work mainly with people of the South. I was born and bred in the South, so I know the people of the South.”
All for the community
Apart from the business, Trevor loves his community. That is why he was instrumental in resuscitating the Sector 3 CPF of Mondeor.
“In 2012 we made sure that our CPF was functional. I was the chairperson for two years. It is important for the community to get involved with CPF because they are there for the well-being and safety of the community. Two police vans cannot patrol the whole area, hence the CPF.
“Residents need to attend their meetings,” Trevor said. “It is very important because not only crime-related issues are discussed but other issues affecting residents as well. Issues like water, roads, electricity and other related issues. It is tiring to see the same faces in these meetings.”
Trevor participates in most community projects in his area. Together with Ward 125 Clr Peter Stewart and other members of the community, he recently heeded the call from Johannesburg Executive Mayor, Clr Herman Mashaba to help clean up their area as part of the A Re Sebetseng initiative.
