Garden club programme for June

The first meeting will take the form of a visit to Garden World, Beyers Naudé Drive, Muldersdrift to attend a rose pruning talk and demonstration presented by Halmar Taschner from Ludwigs Roses.

JOHANNESBURG South Garden Club’s June programme has two meetings, one on Saturday, June 17, and the other on Tuesday, June 27.

The first meeting will take the form of a visit to Garden World, Beyers Naudé Drive, Muldersdrift, to attend a rose-pruning talk and demonstration presented by Halmar Taschner from Ludwigs Roses. While entrance is free, numbers attending have to be confirmed. If you would like to attend this event, please phone Denise Haslecker on 082 551 3919 or 011 432 4130, to ensure that enough places are reserved for members.

The event starts at 10am. If you would like to travel in convoy or require a lift, garden club members will meet at Comaro View shopping centre (entrance in Soetdoring Avenue, Bassonia), leaving there at 8.45am. Again, if you are attending, please let Denise know what your travel arrangements are so that no one is left behind. You are also welcome to make your own way there.

The second garden club meeting, on June 27, will be held in The Winning Room, Queenshaven Retirement Village, 64 Outspan Road, South Hills, at 10am. Guest speaker Syd Millar will be talking about aloes.

For more information on any of the above, phone Rob Winter (chairman) on 011 682 2450 or 072 688 6871, alternatively give Mike Richardson (secretary) a call on 081 829 0526 or 011 432 1561.
