Kunene bags goal of the month award

Mxolisi Kunene received the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month award.

Mxolisi Kunene from Baroka Football club is the latest recipient of the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month award for his strike against Kaizer Chiefs in March.

The skilful midfielder produced a stunning goal following a great breakaway solo run from the halfway line as he waltzed past more than five Chiefs players to neatly finish past Itumeleng Khunefor Baroka’s equalising goal in his side’s 2-2 draw against Amakhosi at the Peter Mokaba stadium.

Kunene becomes the second Baroka FC player to win this prize following goalkeeper Oscarine Masukule, who picked up the award for November, in the exciting new monthly recognition awards for the best goal of the month.

The winning monthly goal was chosen as the best from the online votes by football supporters and the public, who picked their favourite goal through the Premier Soccer League, PSL, website.

Voting for the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month for April, which is currently open for supporters and the public to vote, will close at midnight on May 31, and there were plenty of superb goals to choose from.
