Hair-raising action at The Rock

It’s racing-oval fever at The Rock Raceway venue in Brakpan as the drivers get their chariots ready to roar into action again on Saturday, April 8.

Plenty of V8 action from the Outlaw V8 sprint cars will ensure all the high-power thrills.

The challenge is on for the 2-litre hot rods. They have a full field of entries, with no fewer than 21 race cars to do battle on the 400m oval circuit.

A host of other oval saloon classes will also be racing, including the 1600 stock rods, 1660 modified saloons and super saloons. Open-wheelers will include the ninjas, micro midgets and Formula 2 midgets.

High-speed action from the Formula N circuit cars will keep you riveted to your seat as the saloon car drivers jostle for position around the tricky race circuit.

With plenty of chicanes and tight corners, it can be hair raising at the best of times, but very entertaining for the crowds nonetheless. So come support your favourite driver and vehicle manufacturer by wearing their branded cap, shirt or jacket.

Gates open at 10:00 and the racing starts at 16:00.

Sufficient food and refreshments will be on sale at the circuit. Bring the whole family – and even the neighbours.
