Local soccer player selected for invitational squad
Lwazi Mcineka was selected for the u.17 invitational squad to tour Spain.
A LOCAL youngster has been afforded the opportunity to play at a soccer tournament in Spain.
Lwazi Mcineka competed in the Grey Nedbank tournament and was subsequently selected for the u.17 invitational squad to play in the Copa Jordi Youth Football Tournament, which will be held in Barcelona.
The squad will depart for Spain on April 10 and will return on April 19.
The tournament is a joint project between CF Tordera Football Club, the Catalonian Football Association and Euro-Sporting.
The South African squad will also play in a pre-tournament match.
The 15-year-old has been playing soccer from an early age and commenced his career at the Kibler Park United Football Club.
He is a Grade 10 learner at Jeppe Boys high school.
To play in the Copa Jordi Youth Football Tournament in Spain is a dream come true and he will pursue his dream of becoming one of the prominent players in the country.
