A SUSPECT gained entrance into Maggies Spar in Mulbarton through the roof, on Friday night (January 13).
As the suspect entered through the roof, pepper gas was deployed – sending the intruder to the floor with cuts and bruises. The suspect bled while trying to escape and managed to jump in to the pharmacy in an attempt to get away from D & D reaction officers, who surrounded the building.
A representative from Maggies Spar confirmed that the suspect was apprehended at the scene and treated for his injuries – and taken to a hospital for further treatment. The owner of Maggies complimented the D & D reaction officers for their quick response.
Information was obtained from D & D and Mulbarton Facebook pages and confirmed by Maggies Spar.
Mondeor SAPS has been contacted for comment.
