St Martin’s bakes cupcakes for children with cancer

The cupcakes were made by teachers and sold at the Glen Mall by the Cupcakes of Hope organisation to raise funds.

ST MARTIN’S grade 0 teachers baked at least 250 cupcakes from their homes to help raise funds for children living with cancer in South Africa.

The proud teachers, who spent hours decorating the cupcakes, were passionate and excited to be part of the initiative and applauded the parents who also donated cupcakes to serve the cause.

The cupcakes were sold at The Glen Mall rooftop parking lot on Saturday, September 24, by the Cupcakes of Hope organisation. The teachers were also present to help sell the cupcakes as they believe such an initiative is necessary and important in the world today.

Teacher Candice White said,”We are proud to have baked and decorated these 250 cupcakes that will be sold to help children living with cancer. This was our first time baking cupcakes as a collective and we will now make this initiative an annual thing. I normally volunteer at the organisation and this year we decided to get the school involved,”

St Martin’s encourages other schools, organisations and individuals to get involved and help the organisation raise as much money as possible to help children living with cancer.
