STUDENT PROTEST: Police deployed at UJ

This comes a day after it was reported that numerous students at UJ wanted classes to continue as normal.

POLICE have been deployed to the University of Johannesburg’s Kingsway Campus following reports that rubber bullets were fired and several students injured.

This comes a day after it was reported that numerous students at UJ wanted classes to continue as normal after the recent disruption of lectures which led to classes being cancelled.

The university made a point to inform its students through various communication means that classes would go on as normal. Since the beginning of the week, students were also encouraged to attend their classes.

Protesting students are said to have clashed with security, which led to the police being deployed on campus.
