Tiaan needs a teacher

TIAAN Visagie, an 11-year-old boy from Alberton with Down’s syndrome is in need of a teacher.

The lovable boy was born in 2004. This was also the day when doctors broke the news to the parents, Andy and Malinda Visagie, that their son has Down’s syndrome.

“It was a very big adjustment at first, but we soon realised what a privilege it is to have Tiaan in our lives,” says Andy.

From a very young age, up until the age of six, Tiaan spent his days with a nanny, and was then sent to a learning institute, but he could not adjust there.

“We have knocked on many doors and looked into many institutions which may be able to help, but we have come to the conclusion that there is no place around Alberton equipped to deal with children with Down’s syndrome,” says Andy.

“I think our best option now is to find a retired teacher with a passion for teaching who would be willing and able to teach Tiaan,” adds Andy.

Anyone interested and who fits the criteria can contact Andy 083 460 6921, or Malinda 079 876 3628.
