Bokang Mosia has a big heart

Bokang Mosia is the Lead SA Youth Hero for July 2015.

THE BOKANG Mosia Foundation donated 71 blankets to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital’s CHOC wards, for children living and diagnosed with cancer, on Mandela Day, July 18.

Not only did they give away blankets, their partner, Southgate Mall, also sponsored the foundation with 67 Ster Kinekor movie tickets to watch the movie ”Finding Dory” and Wimpy standard meals, to extend the love to the hospital’s CHOC out-patients.

Other partners were Aspen Pharmacare, AngloGold Ashanti, Sesli Blankets and Throws, Southgate Mall and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

Foundation ambassadors Khanyisile Ngutshane and Sipho Mhlongo, from Uzalo, and Jessica Nkosi, from Isibaya, were also present.

The Bokang Mosia Foundation blanket project is an initiative that was born from an amazing young man, Bokang Mosia (turning 10 on September 22), with a drive to help less fortunate children.

He has endured more than most kids his age and, in October 2013, he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour and had to undergo an operation, chemotherapy and radiation.

Bokang became concerned and shared his dream to assist underprivileged children from disadvantaged communities, homeless children, terminally ill and injured children, with his family.

On June 16, last year, the foundation partnered with Southgate Mall and made the dream a reality, by distributing 80 blankets to different homes around Johannesburg and Soweto.

Bokang is also the Lead SA Youth Hero for July 2015.
