The Bag Lady

What's The Bag Lady been up to this past week? Read and find out!

WINTER is here. I spotted the first frost on Monday morning, May 31, on the corner of Donnington and Comaro streets, in Glenvista on the veld, then again on Wednesday and Thursday. So if you haven’t already gotten your winter wardrobe ready, best to do it now.

The next public holiday is on Thursday, June 16, Youth Day. So be clever and take Friday, June 17, as leave and you’ll get four days to relax. Ummm, sounds like a plan.

Faux fur

Wow, there’s some gorgeous faux fur trimmed clothing in stores as well as coats, jackets and stoles. I love it and have bought a few items with faux fur for this winter. It looks luxurious and feels soft.

Getting better

I’ve had a cold for a few weeks and eventually succumbed to visit the doctor, who of course prescribed antibiotics as I have a sinus infection too. What I have found soothing is a drink I made up of fresh ginger, thinly sliced or grated, Rooibos tea and honey. It’s really comforting. Try it if you are feeling ill from colds and flu.

Bouquets of the Week

To Clayton Ronald who owns The Cakeaway, the carrot cake I ordered for my daughter’s birthday party was absolutely wonderful. All the guests who had a slice, said it was the best carrot cake they have tasted. You’ll find The Cakeaway in The Broads Shopping Centre, Mulbarton. Phone 011 682 3194 to order a cake or for more information.

*Isabel Ferreira gives Given Msimango from the Cell-C store at the Glen Shopping Centre, a huge bouquet. “I have received excellent service from Given on numerous occasions. It’s an absolute pleasure to receive such outstanding service. Thank you Given.”

That’s it for this week. Shop till you drop!
