Figures Models impress at The Glen

The International Model of the Year was a show that impressed not only the judges, but also shoppers and visitors at The Glen.

FIGURES Models Glenvista hosted their International Model of the Year competition, along with their showcase event, at The Glen Shopping Centre, on Saturday, May 7.

The International Model of the Year was a show that impressed not only the judges, but also shoppers and visitors at The Glen.

Ex-Figures Glenvista Model and Miss South Africa 2016 top eight finalist, Schane Venter, said she was blown away by the level of models who entered the show.

Fifteen finalists were chosen to represent Figures Glenvista at the finals, on June 4.

The finals will be held at the Roodepoort Theatre and the winner stands a chance of winning an all-expenses paid trip to New York, to compete at the IMTA convention, in the hope of being scouted by an international modelling agency.

Along with the show was a showcase event, with the theme of A Blast from the Past, where all the Figures Models Glenvista students showcased outfits that blew the judges away.

The students were judged only on the clothing, and the winning outfits were outright winners.

The main aim of the show is to build the students’ self-confidence and self-esteem by having them perform in front of a live audience.

Figures Models Glenvista owner Natacha Thompson said the input and effort from the parents is what makes these shows a success.

“I would like to wish all our International finalists good luck and hope the title comes home to Glenvista,” she added.

”Thanks also to all my students, parents and The Glen Shopping Centre for their support. Without them the show would not be as successful as it was.”
