Mondeor SAPS’s convictions for February

Detective Branch Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Adriaan Haasbroek, commends SAPS investigating officers from Mondeor Police Station , who incidentally,  were all women, for February convictions.

 

MONDEOR – On February 10, Zaido Chin, a 34-year-old suspect was sentenced to 10 years direct imprisonment by the Johannesburg Regional Court for house robbery which occurred in Village on the Ridge in Breietta Street, Ridgeway on February 7, 2014.

The suspect entered the victims’ premises at about 03:00 and robbed them of their belongings, valued at R15 000.The suspect was traced and found in prison already, serving a sentence for another case which took place on October 11, 2015.

On February 18, Gift Ndlovu (30) was sentenced to eight years direct imprisonment by Johannesburg Regional Court for housebreaking and theft which occurred in Basroyd Drive, Bassonia on November 27 at about 04:00.The suspect gained entry through a sliding door and the owner of the house was awakened by the noise and defended himself with a sword.

Both cases were assigned to Sergeant Lindokuhle Sithole of Mondeor SAPS for further investigation.

Two suspects were sentenced, Ndlalama Khosa (24) to 10 years imprisonment and Raymond Kwinda (23) to seven years imprisonment by Johannesburg Regional Court for housebreaking and theft which occurred in Kouga Street, Winchester Hills on June 19, 2015.

The complainant heard a noise in the house and when he went to investigate, he saw two males running, jumping over a wall carrying a plasma TV. One suspect was arrested by Cst Moloi of Mondeor Crime Prevention Unit at Southgate Taxi Rank and the other suspect was arrested by Cst Manamela while hiding in one of the houses in the area.

The case was assigned to Constable Raisibe Malebane of Mondeor SAPS for further investigation.
