BIG DREAMS at Abbotts College

“To the class of 2019 and the class of 2020, best of luck for your high school careers. We know that you will make Abbotts College Johannesburg South very proud!”

ABBOTTS College Johannesburg South, in a pilot project for the Abbotts College brand, welcomed Grade Eight and Nine learners for the first time at the beginning of the year.

This significant achievement was celebrated in a heart-warming and inspiring ceremony on Thursday, January 28. Grade Eight and Nine learners had the opportunity to write their dreams for the future and attach these dreams to balloons. The balloons were then released into the night sky, symbolising that for the learners, the sky is truly the limit.

Each learner received a key, a metaphor for education being the key to their futures. Principal of Abbotts College Johannesburg South, Mr Willem van Zyl, in his inspirational address, compared the teachers and the school to keys that can unlock the true potential of each learner.

According to the principal, this would not have been possible without the tireless and determined work of Ms Jury and her team. Ms Jury, who is the Grade Head for the Grade Eight and Nine learners, has been an inspiration for both learners and staff.

“To the class of 2019 and the class of 2020, best of luck for your high school careers. We know that you will make Abbotts College Johannesburg South very proud!” said van Zyl.
