Keep a watch for robbers

FATIMA Ambasi, a single, self-employed mother, thought she would spend a peaceful New Year with her son, watching television, but burglars spoiled everything for the poor woman.

On Wednesday, December 30, thieves broke into Fatima’s home during the daytime, while she was selling her fruit and vegetables in Hudson street. Her stall is located only about 100m from her home. She spends her whole day there, selling her wares to make a living.

“When I got home at about 17:00, after a very busy and hot day, I found my shack windows broken, with lots of blood inside and outside the shack.

”The burglar must have cut his arms or hands while breaking the window to enter. The thief or thieves stole my television set. ”There could have been two burglars in order to pass the television to the other outside,” alleged the sad single mother.

A case of house-breaking and theft was opened at the Eden Park Police station.

Fatima asked residents to be on the lookout for someone with cuts on their hands or arms.
