Scouting movement assists Lerato Educational Centre

Lerato Educational Centre gets flowers, vegetables and herbs.

EIKENHOF – Southern districts cubbing, which consists of cubs, scouts, scouters and parents, decided to celebrate the scouting movements centenary by adopting Lerato Educational Centre in Jackson Informal Settlement, by assisting in improving the centre in any way they can.

On October 10 they all got together at the centre and planted nearly three hundred flowers, vegetables and herbs, which the learners will now look after. The plants were donated by Andy Titerton Wholesale Nursery cc.

“We will carry on assisting the centre from time to time with  projects we have identified and we are hoping the public will see us and hopefully make everyone aware that scouting and cubbing in the south is very much alive, and useful to the community,” said Dennis Southee, District Commissioner in the South of Johannesburg.
