Dansation performs to two sold-out crowds

The performers are learners of Marist Brothers Linmeyer, Waterstone College, Mulbarton Primary School and the Glenanda Primary School.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Performers from the Jazzy Masala Dance School treated the sold-out Lyric Theatre to two dance spectaculars on September 19 and 20.

“This is a great community event that brings people together because of the different genres of dance,” said Versha Magan, owner of Jazzy Masala Dance School. The dance genres included Bollywood, fusion, hip hop and the classical Indian dance, Kathak.

The performers are learners of Marist Brothers Linmeyer, Waterstone College, Mulbarton Primary School and the Glenanda Primary School.

“We’ve included a lot of props using dance, movement and different backdrops. That’s what makes the show, it’s not just dance. We would like to thank the Gold Reef City management for their helpfulness and professionalism,” said the marketing coordinator of the event, Sohana Kaliprasad.

The annual Dansation was attended by children from the St Mary’s Children’s Home and the Alberton Children’s Home. “The children enjoyed it very much and it was so enriching for them, some of the children said they want to be dancers now. To Jazzy Masala thank you for thinking of us and turning what would’ve been a boring Sunday into fun for the children,” said Sonja Harmse, the director of St Mary’s. Earlier this year Jazzy Masala Dance School also donated mattress covers, mattresses and food to the Alberton Children’s Home.
