New home for Joburg South Garden Club

Members of Johannesburg South Garden Club have a new ‘home’ for their meetings, The Entrance Precinct on Peggy Vera Road, Kibler Park.

KIBLER PARK – Since the garden club came into being many years ago, members’ each took turns to offer their homes and gardens for the garden club meetings, as well as going out to visit garden centres and various other venues.

In honour of their permanent  ‘home’ at The Entrance Precinct, a plaque was donated by  Denise and Bert Haslecker of Eiger Engineering (Pty) Ltd, who did the laser cutting,  with the design and art work done by Ebbie and Mobheen Mohomed.

The plaque was unveiled on Saturday August 23 by members of the garden club. “It’s wonderful to have a fixed base for all our garden club meetings and in such a beautiful and natural setting, right on the doorstep of the Kliprivier Nature Reserve,” said Maud Pickup, chair of the garden club. “ We hope to have many happy years here and look forward to some great meetings with guest speakers as well as workshops,”  she added.
