Fun on the beach at Emperors Food Drink and Entertainment Festival

Beach bartenders from the Bartender Academy will entertain visitors with cocktail and shooter techniques, teaching them the basics from shaking to flaming.

Take off your shoes, put your feet in the sand and enjoy good old fashioned fun and vibe ‘Beach Boys’ entertainment on the Emperors Beach where Island style bands and island cocktails will set the mood at night while lanterns, big fire pits and cocktails served in huge coconuts will create the mood and romantic setting for visitors. That’s exactly what you can expect at the Emperors Food, Drink and Entertainment Festival from August 28 to 31.

Beach bartenders from the Bartender Academy will entertain visitors with cocktail and shooter techniques, teaching them the basics from shaking to flaming. At night Thirsty Now Beverages will also have the young bar artists presenting shooter competitions where Festival goers can win special prizes. A definite must see.

For entertainment visitors can look forward to a very versatile corporate function and party band, Triple Treasure Band, consisting of some of the country’s top musicians and vocalists. The band promises fun and laid back entertainment covering all genres of music from jazz, reggae, commercial, afro jazz to soul.

The Emperors Beach will feature a whopping 80m stretch of sandy beach scattered with picnic cushions and island bars to provide the perfect day time family retreat. Visitors will be able to feast their eyes as The Palace of Dreams will be transformed into a picturesque village with the following themed areas.

Emperors Palate will offer discerning guests a stylish area where the Emperor himself has selected only the finest wine estates, scotch-makers and distillers to serve the best meads, malts and fruits of the vine.

An authentic Beer Lane will give malt fanatics an up-close experience to sample, buy and enjoy the finest beer South Africa’s craft beer makers have to offer. Craft breweries exhibiting include Glenfair Beer, Draymans and Mitchells, to name a few.

Brewers Lane opens to the great Beer House aka “Dad’s Spot”, where sports fans and music lovers will be entertained for hours. Enjoy a variety of food and drink in the biggest Beer House in town, where bands will entertain visitors with jazz, blue grass, country, reggae and rock. Screens will also be placed throughout the festival where rugby supporters will be able to watch their favourite game.

Taverns of the World will present guests with a feast of gastronomic delights and international foods from across the globe. Imagine mouth-watering paella’s, hearty Greek cuisine and rare African delicacies.

There will also be an Amusement Park, comprising thrilling rides for the little ones while mom and dad can explore the country market and Emperors Table.

Tickets for the festival cost R80 per person; teens u.18 years will be charged half price, and there will be complimentary entry for children under 12. Amusement park rides cost R25 per ride. The festival will be open on Thursday and Friday from 16:00 to 22:30, Saturday from 11:00 to 22:30, and on Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. Parking will be available next to the 5-star D’oreale Grande hotel and across the resort.
