‘I would like to thank JRA’

I am extremely pleased with this blitz as all three these streets were in desperate need of being resurfaced.

Residents of Oakdene will be pleased to know Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) did a service delivery blitz in the suburb as part of their annual transport month activities in October.

This has resulted in Heks Rivier Street, Soutpansberg Drive and Tafelberg Drive being resurfaced and will also coincide with the street markings being repainted once the bitumen has dried. In addition to this, I, along with chairperson of transport councillor Tyrell Meyers and chairperson of Oakdene Neighborhood Watch Tony Rodrigues will be meeting with the JRA depot manager to point out some of the other streets that need resurfacing, as well as the kerbs that need to be painted and the stormwater drains that need to be unblocked and fixed.

The depot manager gave his word to work on these issues although the resurfacing of the other roads that were pointed out will need to be placed in next year’s Capital Project Budget.

I am extremely pleased with this blitz as all three these streets were in desperate need of being resurfaced. I trust the residents will continue to drive safely on these newly resurfaced roads, and I will continue to work on the other issues. I would like to thank JRA for their hard work this past month.

Michael Crichton

Ward 56 councillor

Member of Section 79 Transport Committee
