A thunderstorm began late yesterday afternoon, April 20 with torrential rain.

A HAIL storm which ripped through parts of Johannesburg South, including Glenvista and Brackendowns, Alberton, has left residents with lots of cleaning up to do this morning.


A thunderstorm began late yesterday afternoon, April 20 with torrential rain. Around 5.50pm a hail storm battered the above areas, with flooding and hail damage.

Speaking to a resident in Glenvista, she said their courtyard this morning is still full of hail. “It looks like deep snow and we are praying we won’t get more hail later today.
On Friday mid-afternoon a thunderstorm hit which also brought hail.”


Gardens have been ruined with ripped trees and plants left with no foliage and leaves.
