IN honour of Woman’s Month, Laurent Gaston-Bellegarde, the senior instructor of the Cobras Karate Club in Alberton, held a one-day self-defence seminar for women on August 24. It was a very successful day with 20 ladies who took part and all had a chance to practice the reality of self-defence and how to avoid danger.
Gaston-Bellegarde, who is a 6th Dan in karate, with 22 years of teaching experience, also holds weekly self-defence classes in Brackenhurst for women only, where he focuses on teaching the woman to be aware and avoid and escape dangerous situations as much as possible.
