WATCH: Former TLC baby shines at America’s Got Talent
Every baby who passes through TLC is given a chance at a healthy and successful life.
“CARING for abandoned children should remain a priority in South Africa as several children under the care of TLC’s Children home have received life-changing opportunities over the past years,” TLC Children’s Home managing director Pippa Jarvis said.
This comes as two members of the TLC’s Children home are shining on the international stage.
Naomi Gonner, a past TLC baby and Elizabeth ‘Lissie’ Dünser, a past TLC volunteer, are members of the Zurcaroh acrobatic dance group which is currently making waves on America’s Got Talent.
Pippa said the organisation was very proud to have played a positive part in their lives.
“No matter their journey, every baby who passes through TLC is given a chance at a healthy, successful life as a well-rounded member of society. We are privileged to have played a part in your lives and wish both of you, and Zurcaroh, every success as you continue to do amazing things in this world,” she said.
The two first achieved amazing success last year in their participation in La France a un incroyable talent (France’s Got Talent) and have recently just blown us away again by getting the first golden buzzer of the season in America Got Talent.
“As they say on their page, ‘Zurcaroh is more than just a group. It’s a family’. We are two families connected by some amazing young ladies who have gone on to do amazing things,” Pippa added.

67 minutes for Mandela – get involved
With the children’s home annual Mandela Day celebrations just around the corner, the organisation invites people across the country to visit the home and contribute to the welfare of children in different ways.
“Each year we allocate a range of activities for you to do on our farm, or even at home or the office. These all impact TLC in a big way and help us do what we do,” Pippa said.
Some of the activities include baby food preparation, biscuit decoration, memory album pages, beading for babies, steam cleaning, painting, packing school lunches and many more.

Registration is free and it will help the organisation in the allocation of tasks to different parties to be involved.
“All you have to bring is the materials you need for your activity, which will be emailed to you after you submit the form,” Pippa said.
