Glenanda Primary donates R20 000 to door of hope

Door of hope remains grateful to the community for their continued support.

GLENANDA Primary School recently donated over R20 000 from a cake and candy sale to assist the livelihood of young children under the care of Door of Hope Children’s mission.

The Grade Three educators and learners had a cake and candy sale to raise funds which amounted to R24 038 in a day.

Funds raised will be used to help save more abandoned babies and to provide for their needs as the mission currently has 70 babies under its care.

Door of Hope’s social investment co-ordinator, Kim Nixon gave an insightful presentation during the school assembly on the mission of the organisation and students were greatly informed and educated about the children’s mission.

“It was exciting to share our mission with several kids and we remain extremely grateful to Glenanda Primary for their contribution to our organisation,” Kim said.

“The little ones were so excited to be a part of a programme meant to seed back to the needy within our community and children in particular. I also extend my gratitude to parents and guardians who helped their children with the cakes and candy for the cause of charity; it’s really applauded.”

The organisation looks forward to partnering different corporates as a way to increase their ability to save and cater for the growing number of children under their care.

However, Door of Hope remains in urgent need of nappies, sizes ranging from medium (4-9kg) to large (8-14kg) Huggies, Pampers or Cuddlers. The nappies can be delivered to 15 Barbara Ave Glenvista or for donations visit www.doorofhope.co.za/donate
