THE Glen Shopping Centre launched its newly revamped Entertainment and Food Hall to a queue of customers waiting to view the new area on April 26.
First in the queue were three youngsters who had been in line since 4pm on Wednesday afternoon, hoping to win the big prizes from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, new to The Glen.
“We arrived at just before 4pm and made it known we were first in the queue,” laughed Shazneen Sallie, Hamzah Mia and Lameah Vardalia, who slept at The Glen on a mattress they had brought with them. Their prize for waiting for 16 hours was Krispy Kreme doughnuts. First prize was seven doughnuts a week for a year. Second and third prize winners will also receive doughnuts over a certain length of time. This will certainly keep the winners bouncing with joy.
Customers arrived at The Glen Shopping Centre on the open day from as early as 6.30am and began forming a queue.
“I can’t wait to see what the Entertainment and Food Hall has to offer. I’m coming today to see first and then my family will be coming too over the weekend,” said a woman who was waiting for an hour already.
Mugg and Bean were all systems go, serving early customers with their amazing coffee. New store to the centre, Pep, opened their doors early too. Ocean Basket would be opening later to serve their delicious lunch for the first time in their new restaurant and the other new stores were getting ready to welcome their customers.
