Eikenhof Women’s Institute celebrates 66 years

“I’m very proud of my committee members for being such caring people and thank them for everything they do. To all the members who provide the delicious teas each month, huge thanks,” said Joy.

THE annual general meeting of the Eikenhof Women’s Institute (WI) group, which coincided with its 66th birthday, was held on April 11.

The meeting was opened with prayer, with the memorial candle lit in remembrance of those members who had passed since the last AGM.

Next, group president Joy Boswell presented her report, which included a month-by-month account of the meetings held throughout the year.

Patricia Leech, treasurer, gave her report and said the group most definitely needed some new members, which would increase the WI’s financial status. Presently there are 28 members, with an average of 22 attending each meeting.

VOTED IN: Yvonne Fagan, Julie Board, Joy Boswell, Marjorie Lattimer, Evelyn Onderstal, Patricia Leech and Bronwyn Du Plessis. Absent: Jean Ross.
