HSH Princess Charlene back at Turffontein

HSH Princess Charlene makes her appearance on April 21 at the Turffontein Racecourse.

THE South will once again welcome back HSH Princess Charlene on April 21 at Turffontein Racecourse when the R1-million Empress Club Stakes will be staged.

The racecourse will boast the royal affair, which is a major drawcard on the racing calendar and pundits can get ready for a bumper race day.

Racegoers should hurry to get their ticket for the Diamond Drop at race day having only 1 000 tickets for sale for R150 each.

On the racing side, Nother Russia will be one of the 13 entries for the R1-m main race the HSH Princess Charlene Empress Club Stakes over 1 600m. Trainer Mike de Kock will be happy to see his racehorse taking on the likes of the full field on Saturday. He has entered four prospects along with Nother Russia, Orchid Island, Cascapedia and Fish River.

Trainer Sean Tarry, on the other hand, has also entered four in the likes of Heaps of Fun, Safe Harbour, Simply Royal and Tahini, while Geoff Woodruff has put Al Danza and BiPot forward. Entries close on April 16.

Gates will open at 11am. Entry is R50 per person and children under 12 can enter for free, but children over 12 pay half price.

Book your table at R280 per head, which includes entrance fee and a three-course buffet.
