Baseline Church helps Rosettenville baby home
Baseline Family Church still plans on getting more involved with nursery schools and primary schools in the surrounding areas.
BASELINE Family Church on 25 Pieter Acroyd Avenue in Bassonia is led by Pastors Martin and Jessie Botma who visited the Rosettenville Baby Home on October 14 to reach out to the workers and babies at the home.
The baby home is an AFM (apostolic faith mission) baby home on George Street. The Botma’s challenged their congregation and urged both men and women to join in the outreach to help the home.
The men of Baseline Family Church cleaned up the garden at the home and after the women were ‘orientated’, they were given a tour of the home and a bit of background information. At the time there were about 12 children at the home and about ten ladies working and caring for these babies.
“The Baseline team began ministering to the workers on a personal level and prayed over their lives, helping them to feel appreciated. Prior to the outreach, the congregation was given a list of toiletries, foods, clothes etc. that can be contributed for both the babies and the workers,” said Jessie.
The day was a huge success and Bibles were even given to the ladies. After the outreach the pastors organised for a garden service to go to the baby home every week to keep it well-maintained and looking neat.
A group of ladies from the church also go to the home on a weekly basis to pray with the ladies and help them maintain not only the physical home, but their spiritual lives as well.
Pastor Jessie also added that the church still plans on getting more involved with nursery schools and primary schools in the surrounding areas.
