Local church and community honours its Pastor

SOLID Truth Worship Centre has been serving the communities of South Hills, Elands Park and Moffat View for the past 17 years and moved into their newly built premises, which was officially opened two years ago, situated at 45 McIntosh Street, Elands Park.

The church recently honoured its founding member, pastor Samuel (Sam) Govender, by hosting its Pastors Appreciation Day.

WATCH:

Pastor Sam and his wife pastor Gloria Govender have served as senior pastors at the community-based church since its opening in June 2000. Pastor Sam also serves as a board member of the International College of Bible and Missions (ICBM) and together with local pastors serves as a member of the Greater South Hills Ministers Fraternal and Christian Ministers Network (CMN).

LOVELY: Doctors Thanusha Pillay and Clinton Munsamy at the appreciation day.

The Sunday morning service, which commenced at 9.30am, proceeded as per normal with assistant pastor Thomas Govender preaching on ‘Raising a Generation’. Thereafter the programme for the Appreciation Day began with the Sunday school (Jesus and Me Ministries – JAM) rendering an item and speeches were given to acknowledge a humble and dedicated man of God.

ELEGANT: Church members all came together to make everything perfect. The hall was beautifully decorated.

Pastor Sam and his wife of 37 years, Gloria Govender were lavished with gifts from the Solid Truth family for their good works and service to the church and community.

FORMALITIES: Pastors Sam and Gloria Govender cut their cake.

The congregation and special guests were then invited to partake in lunch at the church hall, which was beautifully decorated by members of the church, and witness a cake cutting ceremony to mark the special day. The day was enjoyed by all who attended.

STUNNING: Nelson and Charmaine Govender looking stunning at the Pastors Appreciation Day.
THANK YOU: Pastors Sam and Gloria thanks the congregation.
BEAUTIFUL: The church hall was beautifully set up for the church to enjoy a meal together.
CAKE: The cake that was made by one of the members of the congregation.
