Another robbery at Mall of the South

This is the second armed robbery in two weeks.

At about 5.40pm on Tuesday, August 8, five armed men walked casually into Mall of the South, and robbed Telkom.
They held up the staff and proceeded to take cell phones, leaving as casually as they had arrived.

It’s believed they left the centre exiting by the public walk way near the taxi rank and drove away in a white Avanza.

No more information available.

Mall of the South comment:

Mall of the South Centre Management can confirm that an armed robbery took place at the Telkom store on Tuesday, 8 August 2017 just before 6pm.

Five suspects entered the store pretending to be potential clients.
The suspects fled the site, with an undisclosed amount of goods, in a white Toyota Avanza.

The store alerted their offsite security response first after the incident took place. Security and mall management were informed only once the suspects left the mall. Security immediately alerted the South African Police Services, CPF and SOS to assist with the investigation.

No injuries and no shots were reported.

There is no disruption in the mall; the Mall is trading as normal.
