Support Door of Hope in the SheEo Sleepout

Donate to Door of Hope.

DOOR of Hope is the beneficiary of the SheEo Sleepout this year and as the beneficiary Door of Hope’s ‘SheEo’, Nadene Grabham (operations director at Door of Hope), has to participate in the Sleepout on behalf of the home for abandoned babies to show empathy towards homeless children and babies.

“Each participant has to raise a minimum of R100 000 which will go towards the funds raised during this event.

Of course most of the participants are from corporate companies that can afford R100 000, but we as an NPO don’t have R100 000. However, the CEO Sleepout has given each participant an SMS number to raise the money,” said Grabham.

Door of Hope is now calling on the community to donate R10 to this initiative by simply sending the word ‘Door’ in an SMS to the number 38222.

Female CEOs, directors and managers are also urged to register and participate in the actual Sleepout. The target is 250 participants and so far 50 female business leaders have registered. Grabham is urging female leaders from the South to step up and represent the South in this initiative.

Door of Hope has also hosted its own Sympathy Sleepout to raise donations for other homes that do similar work. This was held at Rietvlei where Door of Hope collected many donations for other baby houses.

As the primary beneficiary of this year’s Sleepout, Door of Hope will receive a portion of the funds raised which will go towards its two baby houses in Glenvista and the brand new children’s village in Aloe Ridge (near Walkerville) which can shelter between 300 to 500 orphaned and unadoptable children.
