What makes the South tick?

Park Senior Primary learners share what they love and hate about the South.

THE CHRONICLE found out from the learners at Park Senior Primary what tickles their fancy in the South of Johannesburg. It was established that there are both good and bad things in the area.

MILANO NATHOO: The fact that there are too many people using drugs in the South makes me feel uncomfortable and I don’t like what they are doing.

JAMIE-LEE LAKAY: I am interested in all the fun activities happening in the South. We have tourist attractions like Gold Reef City and FNB Stadium where people can go and have fun.

KHALEB YIRDAW: I don’t like the bad things happening in this area, like people who use drugs, people who drink and when they are intoxicated they hurt other people.

SETH GREEN: There are lots of sporting facilities in our parks and I see more people taking part in keeping themselves fit. I am sure this will help them not to do bad things in the community.

TASHLYN SMITH: We can learn more about our important history. Take for instance James Transport Museum in La Rochelle. Also, libraries in the South help us to be more informed.
