COVENANT College recently held a breakfast to honour the matriculants of 2016 who produced the best results in the history of the school.
The 2016 form educator of the matriculants, Fabian Brooks, said that in 2014 the school achieved a 33 per cent bachelor pass rate, in 2015 a 50 per cent and in 2016 a 75 per cent pass rate.
“There has been a steady incline in the pass rates and the class of 2016 produced the best results so far. We are happy with the results and the school is challenged to meet high results like the ones we have now. The breakfast is the first we are hosting and we want it to continue. It is to honour the past learners,” said Brooks.
The school started off with a combined assembly where there was a presentation of the results and an address by the schools top achiever, Timothy Kruger. This was to inspire and motivate the other learners.
Principal of the school Brian du Preez also confirmed that the idea behind the breakfast was to elevate the learners and show them appreciation for the good results produced.
“Hard work always pays off and excellence has its reward. At this time, we also remember the educators who contributed to the success of the learners and to those educators and learners who have been with the school since grade R,” said Du Preez.
