Another armed robbery in Glenvista

The armed men asked where the safe was and when two of the three victims said there was no safe, they were hit over their heads with guns by the armed men.

PIETSEKOP Street in Glenvista has seen a number of armed robberies over the past few months.

On Saturday, October 15 at about 14:30 a homeowner and two other men were working on a motorbike in his garden when five armed men entered the property. They took the men inside the house and made them all lie down.

The armed men asked where the safe was and when two of the three victims said there was no safe, they were hit over their heads with guns by the armed men.

The robbers took a camera and jewellery and left in their silver Chevy Captiva.

According to friends at the victims’ home, Glenvista CPF were first on the scene and called ER24 to attend to the two injured. Victim Support Unit was also called to the scene. Mondeor SAPS arrived about an hour later.

“This particular home has been robbed twice in the last three months and other armed robberies have occurred in this street over the past few months. It’s extremely worrying, to say the least,” said a friend of the family.
