Giving the gift of sight

Four children from Amazing Grace Children's Home received glasses from David Simons Optometrist.

DAVID Simons Optometrist has practised at the Glenvista Shopping Centre for 17 years and has opted to donate 17 free eye tests and pairs of spectacles to the needy. With the help of Clr Sarah Wissler from ward 23, four blessed children from Amazing Grace Children’s Home received glasses from the optometry practice on Thursday, September 1.

With four spectacles already donated, Sarah is on a mission with the help of David Simons Optometrist to donate the remaining 13 spectacles to the needy.

“The project is only possible because of the support from the community in Glenvista and surrounding areas,” said David Simons, who fitted the glasses on Dineo Banda, Tiny Nyathi, Ntswaki Mthethwa and Nthabiseng Present from the children’s home. The overjoyed girls smiled brightly as they saw the world as if through new eyes.
