Tree-planting at Glenvista Primary

This is a young school established by the GDE at the beginning of this year and this tree is being planted in hope for the future,” said Vernon.

IT was a day full of hope at Glenvista Primary School, when Vernon Botha, marketing and public relations from Thaba Eco Hotel and Miss Earth Ambassador, Jessica Janse van Rensburg met at the school, along with Clive Visser from Sweet Thorn Wholesale Nursery and groundsman, Pieter Jackson and his two assistants from Glenanda Primary School.

“The purpose of our visit today is to plant this indigenous non-invasive White Karee which we purchased from Clive. This is a young school established by the GDE at the beginning of the year and this tree is being planted in hope for the future,” said Botha.

“I’m always honoured when I can make an appearance at a school. With this school being new the gardens need lots of love and attention and this tree planted in front of the school offices gives hope for growth, both in the gardens and in the school itself,” said Janse van Rensburg.

Visser added, “The tree will grow to about eight metres and will give beautiful shade”.

“We are very thankful to Thaba Eco Hotel for this beautiful gift of a tree and I hope this is the beginning of a growing relationship with them,” said Arnold Oliphant, principal of Glenvista Primary School.
