JHB South March bride and groom competition winners

"Our relationship started out as a typical “boy meets girl” scenario."

CONGRATULATIONS to Ockert and Tatum Vermeulen! They were married at the Moon and Sixpence in June 2015.

Here’s their winning story.

“The beautiful Moon and Sixpence venue was a stunning backdrop to a cozy, winter wedding and supported our main goal of having a beautiful party.

Our relationship started out as a typical “boy meets girl” scenario which led up to our colour selection of navy blue and pink; my favourite colour. Our being two very different individuals, Ockert being a typical, rugby-playing boer-seun, and myself a nerdy, goody two-shoes, were the very attributes that all came together to make our wedding day incredible and filled with family, friends, love and loads of delicious food.

“Wanting everything to be perfect, I sent Ockert to have his hands beautifully cleaned for photos. Sadly, this went horribly wrong and we had a funny challenge of trying to hide Ockert’s red, chemical-peeled hands instead. Never mind the funny challenge, the highlight of our special day was finally saying “I do” after all the months of planning and stressing.”

Ockert and Tatum walk away with prizes worth over a R1 000, including a R500 Turn ‘n Tender voucher, courtesy of Turn ‘n Tender Comaro View Shopping Centre and Bassonia, and a romantic night out for two, courtesy of Gold Reef City. This will include a dinner and a bottle of wine at the Back O’The Moon Restaurant to the value of R500. To end off the evening, the lucky couple can choose between two movie tickets or a round of tenpin bowling.

Next month’s entries open April 5 and close on April 19.
