JRA neglects its repairs

I have now noticed that there are several such trenches around our suburbs. To get JRA to respond after reporting the burst pipe or water leak is like pulling chicken teeth.

IT is ridiculous how the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) is neglecting and delaying to attend to the problems associated with the repairs of leaks and potholes which have been reported.

There have been several leaks reported around the southern suburbs of Mondeor, Alan Manor and Kibler Park which Joburg Water repaired but JRA has failed to reinstate.

We had a severe flooding of a property in Maluti Street, Winchester Hills, damaging garden walls and garages when a trench was left open and a heavy downpour created a mammoth mess, inconveniencing residents.

I have now noticed that there are several such trenches around our suburbs. To get JRA to respond after reporting the burst pipe or water leak is like pulling chicken teeth.

*Comment from Bertha Scheepers, JRA ops manager for marketing and communication: JRA sincerely apologises for the delay in the reinstatement of the road. The JRA is committed to serving the residents of Joburg by providing quality roads that are secure, accessible and liveable. We therefore encourage the reporting of all road related issues via a number of reporting platforms such as the Joburg call centre, the JRA Find&Fix app, via an email to hotline@jra.org.za, or via twitter @MyJRA. Through these platforms a reference number will be provided for escalations.
