Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year so most will celebrate on Saturday evening. If you are planning on eating out at a restaurant, book early. We are really lucky to have so many good restaurants roundabout now, especially with Mall of the South being open. There’s so many to choose from and whether you enjoy fish, seafood or meat, or everything, making a choice will be easy.
A perfect evening
If you really are feeling the pinch and a restaurant meal will be too expensive, make a plan to eat at home but make it special. If you’re a great cook, that’s awesome but if not, visit your local Woolworths or a delicatessen and buy a few readymade eats.
The Italian Cheese Distributor (011 432 3072) corner The Broads and Hythe Road, Mulbarton, sells the most delicious cold meats and cheeses, as well as the very best biltong I’ve ever tasted, oh and their prices are great.
You could do an Italian platter (meats and cheeses) and add olives, baby tomatoes and a loaf of ciabatta. Don’t forget a bottle of ice cold sparkling bubbly or wine and of course, candles!
