Picketing at court over appearance of baby’s murderer
The case in which a father raped and murdered his eight-day-old daughter shocked the area.
The 36-year-old man from Welverdiend who was arrested for the murder of his eight-day-old baby girl is appearing in court today.
Many residents expressed shock, disbelief and outrage after the resident was taken into custody for raping and murdering his baby daughter on Friday 9 June.
A group of gender-based violence advocates are currently picketing in from of the Oberholzer Magistrates Court where the man is appearing.
“This is just horrible. We are here to support the mother, even though we have not seen her yet,” one of the picketers, some who come from as far as Krugersdorp, told the Herald a short while ago.
It is expected that the case will be postponed.
