An acquaintance recently raped a pre-teen girl in one of the informal settlements around Fochville.
The incident happened at the No. 5 settlement on March 26.
The ten-year-old girl was playing with her friends at about 17:00 when the suspect (50) called her to his shack.
He sat her on his bed and told her not to tell anyone about what would happen. He then raped her. The girl went to her mother and immediately told her what happened.
The mother then called the police and opened a case.
