Carletonville CBD sidewalks a nightmare

The centre of the town looks worse than ever.

Even though Carletonville’s central business area is supposed to be a place that draws visitors to the town, it is currently in a terrible state.

Just on Flint Street alone, the grass is almost knee-high on the sidewalks in places. The island between the two sides of parking in the middle of the street is overgrown in several areas.

Not only is grass growing on the sides of the tarred surface, but weeds are also more than a metre high in places.

The tarred surface at the entrance and exit on the side of Annan Road has a fringe of grass.

Potholes, broken paving on top of stormwater drains, and broken concrete rubbish bins can also be seen all over the CBD.

The Herald took the issues to the Merafong City Local Municipality on Tuesday but received no response by printing time.
