Fochville businessman attacked

Robbers attacked a businessman from the Fochville area this week.

As far as could be determined, Mr Louis Schutte had taken some of his workers to their workplaces on the morning of Thursday, 11 October.

A gang of thugs attacked him when he arrived home on the farm Elandsfontein behind the new Fochville graveyard.

The criminals assaulted Schutte and shot him in the knee. He managed to get help after the thugs fled and was taken to Potchefstroom MediClinic, where he was still receiving treatment when the newspaper went to print.
Although the Herald tried to contact the Fochville station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Kgomotso Netshitangani, to establish whether the police had arrested anyone following the incident, no information was forthcoming.
