A group of protesters who are unhappy about electricity problems in Welverdiend and the Elijah Barayi mega housing project have started to block the road a short while ago. They are blocking the road near the railway tracks. Motorists must now use the N12, the R501 with a short route through the veld around the sinkhole or the Rysmierbult road. People staying in Welverdiend and the Elijah Barayi mega housing project have been without electricity for six days.
