According to the Carletonville police, another hijacking occurred on 1 December. The driver of a Volkswagen T-Cross was driving on the P111 when a white Golf 7 passed him at the four-way intersection at Driefontein at around 12:55. The driver of the Golf suddenly slammed on brakes in front of the T-Cross, forcing the victim to stop. Once his vehicle had come to a standstill, the Golf driver’s accomplices drove up in a second car and grabbed him the moment he stepped out of the T-Cross. They forced him into their vehicle and drove around the area with him. The thugs grabbed the victim’s belongings and forced him to give them the pin to his bank card. After stopping at times and loading him into three other vehicles, the criminals eventually dropped the victim off at Luipaardsvlei in Krugersdorp. They then fled with his vehicle.
